The Kansas City Chiefs are AFC Champs Once Again
Anticipation
On January 21, 2024, the Kansas City Chiefs took down the Buffalo Bills, defying all odds. In the previous month, the Chiefs took a devasting loss to this same franchise, as this time, they held on. Bills kicker, Tyler Bass, missed a 44 yard field goal with 1:43 remaining in the game. The Chiefs' Isiah Pacheo took this momentum and scored a 5 yard touchdown in less than a minute, sealing the winning score at 27-24. The Bills had seemed to put themselves in a position to tie the game, but luck wasn't on Bass's side that night. The Chiefs would then travel to Baltimore to face the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship.
"Real quick, real quick, real quick. Hey! They asked for it and they got what they asked for," Mahomes said, following the big win against the Bills, responding to opposing fans.
Travis Kelce adds on with,"This s--- ain't done. We come back next week ready to f---ing go!"
Chiefs vs Everybody
As heard all over the news, popstar Taylor Swift and star tight-end Travis Kelce for the Kansas City Chiefs are a seemingly new couple. With this new couple, the Kansas City Chiefs are facing a lot of backlash from NFL fans, as they believe that the couple is posted too much, taking over their anticipated football content. Kelce and Swift are all over social media platforms such as TikTok, Instagram, and Snapchat. Along with the "lovey dovey" content, NFL fans can be seen posting TikTok's and Instagram reels directly towards the Chiefs, particularly saying how no one wants them to win. All of this commentary is creating a high tension for the upcoming game of the Ravens vs the Chiefs.
"As long as we're happy, we can't listen to anything that's outside noise," Kelce said.
Jason Kelce, Travis's brother, adds on by stating," The NFL would be foolish not to post Taylor Swift."
The AFC Championship
On Sunday January 28th, 2024, the AFC championship is underway. The Baltimore Ravens have a strong fanbase, almost the whole NFL rooting for them, while the Chiefs have their celebrity status going into this game. The first quarter was underway, as Patrick Mahomes was a strong force that could not be stopped. He was seen playing his "vintage" way of football, picking apart the Baltimore Raven's defense with short passes to his top receiver, Travis Kelce. Lamar Jackson had a lot of pressure on his back as he headed out for the Raven's first offensive position, but the once shaky Kansas City Chief defense took over Jackson's first anticipated offensive run. Mahomes found his star players Travis Kelce and Isiah Pacheco in the endzone to give his team a boosting lead. The Ravens did add on a touchdown from Zay Flowers, but the defense from the Chiefs was too unbearable to score another. The Chiefs withstand all the odds and are once again the AFC Champs!
Kelce added in after the victory, "The Chiefs are still the Chiefs."
Mahomes summed up his game winning play stating, "We're going to the Superbowl, That was it. I knew we needed one first down to get us to the goal, and they trusted me to go get one."
After the loss, Jackson says, "Oh I'm no frustrated at all, I'm angry about losing, we were a game away from the Superbowl, we've been waiting all this time, all these moments for an opportunity like this, and we fell short."
The Winning Kiss
After this emotional game, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce embraced each other, feelings all the wonderful feels of going to the Superbowl. This embracement was not only met with a hug, as the couple showed their love for each other with a game-winning kiss. Swift, being one of the biggest superstars on the planet, continues showcasing her prominent love story with Travis not just through the NFL, but through the entire world. The "love story" was front and center in the Chiefs huge win against the Ravens, 17-10. Sealed with a kiss, Swift and her dream boyfriend are now Las Vegas bound. Head coach Andy Reid receives the Lamar Hunt Trophy for the fourth time in fives years, pointing and Taylor Swift, as she points back at the trophy ceremony.
I love this whole post about the Kansas City Chiefs and their relationship with Taylor Swift! Me, personally, the only reason I know anything about football right now is because of Taylor and Travis's relationship, regardless of what some devout NFL fans think. Taylor Swift being involved only increased viewership of all things to do with the Chiefs, and I don't believe that that makes it such a bad thing.
